Candidates must have a current active RN license in Tennessee and a Master's degree in nursing, though a BSN may be acceptable for Practical Nursing programs. At least three years of registered nursing practice experience is required.
Fortis Cookeville has a current opening for a Nursing Instructor. Fortis is affiliated with Education Affiliates, a company with approximately 50 post-secondary schools nationwide, of which over 20 offer nursing programs. These schools are known as Fortis College, Fortis Institute, Denver School of Nursing, and St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Our programs range from practical nursing to MSN degrees.
Nursing faculty are professionals with the education and practice skills to prepare the next generation of nurses. Faculty members are accountable to the Dean/Director of Nursing for the implementation of the approved curriculum, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the nursing program and the College/Campus. They provide students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge and practice the skills identified in course objectives using varied and appropriate teaching methods. They plan learning activities to meet program outcomes based on the standards set by policies, legal and other regulatory requirements, and acceptable practice. Faculty also participate in the program’s evaluation and continuous improvement process and engage in personal professional development.
