Are you an organized, self-motivated professional with an eye for precision? Do you love a mix of lab analysis, field teamwork, and leadership? The Utah Department of Transportation is looking for a Transportation Technician III to join our Region Two Materials Lab.
In this role, your attention to detail will directly impact the safety and quality of Utah’s highways. You will ensure construction materials meet strict standards, mentor team members, and help keep our lab running at peak accreditation levels.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the Materials Lab, you will split your time between precise testing, field sampling, and operational support:
Qualifications
We are looking for a sharp, positive leader who brings the following to the table:
Underfill: If you don’t quite meet the Level III requirements yet, you can still apply! This position can be filled as a Transportation Technician II if you have at least 24 months of on-the-job experience (including completion of Tech II Training). You will just need to complete the specialty track, train the trainer, and leadership development requirements within your first year on the job.
Preferences
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, preference may be given to applicants who are already fully qualified Transportation Technician IIIs, or those who hold any of the following certifications:
