ABOUT POLAR FIELD SERVICES, INC.
We are a rare company. Since 1999, we've been taking our clients wherever they need to go, no matter how remote the location or challenging the conditions may be. We plan their expeditions, keep them safe in places that are anything but, and supply food, shelter, power, water, and waste removal. We then return the site to such a pristine condition no one would ever know we were there. We haven't been everywhere. Just a lot of places most people haven't.
Our team is made up of skilled people who are passionate about supporting cutting-edge science and making a difference in our world. As thanks for their courage and hard work, we offer excellent compensation and outstanding benefits. We take our jobs seriously, but our company culture is relaxed, dog-friendly, and casually dressed. We are looking to add more adventurous souls to our team!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
In this seasonal electric position, you are a crucial part of our field team. Each day, you eagerly install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical components, including branch circuits, power distribution wiring, generators, lighting systems, and many more! Using your expertise, you competently perform scheduled preventative maintenance on existing electrical systems. You can always be counted on to diligently accomplish every task that comes your way.
With avid attention to safety, you perform ongoing risk and hazard assessments while executing every job. You always execute a timely response when emergency service calls roll in, no matter the time of day. A confident leader, you occasionally direct the work of our helpers to make sure every task gets accomplished as well as keep your supervisor up to speed on job progress and requirements.
A team player, you always attend safety meetings and morning pre-task stretching sessions. You also assist your team with all aspects of camp support, including cooking, equipment operation, digging, and camp construction. No matter how extreme the weather, you remain enthusiastic and ready to squash any problem that arises. The climate can be challenging, but you never back down! You thrive in such an exotic location as you put your hard-earned abilities in this crucial skilled trade to great use!
