Position Summary:
Lead the development and execution of government affairs and market access strategies for the China affiliate whilst inputting into global strategies to enhance the company’s footprint and reputation in GCN with a focus on oncology. Shape and influence policy and regulatory changes and represent the company in high-level engagements with government agencies and industry associations. Build and maintain relationships with payers, regulators, and policy makers to ensure optimal access for the BioNTech portfolio. Drive successful submissions and negotiations through both CHI (private insurance market) and NRDL.
Your main responsibilities are:
Deliver strategies for priority projects (issues and opportunities) to ensure that BioNTech has a strong share of voice among external stakeholders, governmental and others.
Coordinate key projects related to the central government department like SFDA, SDRC, MOH, MOFCOM etc.
Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including NHSA, NMPA, and other government agencies in order to shape and influence evolving healthcare policy and regulatory changes.
Represent the company in national policy forums, industry associations, and public-private partnerships.
Monitor and deliver analysis on relevant policies and regulations to manage opportunities and risks for the business.
Provide strategic insights to global teams on China’s national and regional healthcare landscape from a policy and access perspective.
Provide China-specific market access support within local alliance management, global and China innovation hubs, and governance forums.
Lead the development and execution of local market access strategies for pipeline and in-line products aligned to global price and access strategy.
Lead submissions, negotiations, and pricing strategies for both private insurance market (CHI) and NRDL and pull through into hospital listings.
What you have to offer:
10+ years in Government Affairs, Policy, and Market Access roles in the pharma or biotech sectors.
Experience working within Global biotech and/or large pharmaceutical companies.
Deep understanding of China’s healthcare system including the healthcare policy, regulatory and market access environment.
Experience of interacting and engaging effectively with senior government officials and building relationships or coalitions with broad range of stakeholders (government, media, NGO, thought leaders and patient groups etc.)
Proven experience of demonstrating leadership and positive impact on public policy developments including successfully advocating public policy positions for China and complex organizations.
Mainland China experience.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Fluent in Mandarin and English.
BSc in Life sciences and/or Health Economics with advanced degree preferred.
