POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kid Zone Program Specialist is responsible for the children in the Kid Zone to ensure a safe, fun area for children 2 months through 10 years old and their families to interact and enjoy. Schedule includes Monday-Friday,4:00pm-7:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am-2:00pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises play and group activities of Kid Zone participants
Maintains discipline and order
Maintains supervision of participants
Handles parent/member concerns
Registers each Kid Zone participant
Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
Insures equipment is clean and safe
Enforces safety standards for the operation of the Kid Zone
Implements Character Development: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
COMPENSATION
$14.35 - $17.93 ; Part Time, Non-Exempt (up to 25 hours/week)

KNOW HOW
Must be 15 years of age or older. Six months to one year childcare or customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. Ability and desire to work with children of all ages.
CERTIFICATIONS
Blood Borne Pathogen training
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required within the first 60 days
First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
