The LPN provides nursing care and assists patients with self-care techniques under the direction of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include performing home visits, carrying out MD orders, and completing clinical documentation within 24 hours.
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved Practical Nurses Education Program with a valid Connecticut LPN license and CPR certification. A minimum of one year of acute care experience and a valid driver's license with a dependable vehicle are required.

The Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direction of a registered nurse to provide nursing care, to assist the patient in learning self-care techniques and to prepare clinical and progress notes.

EDUCATION
Graduated from an approved Practical Nurses Education Program
EXPERIENCE
Minimum one year experience in the acute care setting. Home care experience preferred, but not required.
LICENSURE
License Practical Nurse with valid (or eligible) Connecticut license required. A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance are required when using a personal vehicle for company business. Access to a dependable vehicle in order to travel to multiple stops a day. CPR certification is required and must be maintained. Candidates who do not have certification are required to obtain it within 3 months (90 days) of hire.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written skills. Excellent clinical knowledge. Strong computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which includes heavy lifting, extensive bending, administering CPR, patient bracing, standing, and stairs. Requires exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases.
Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm, 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday each year. 1 weekend a month. Home care experience preferred.
