Position Summary
Responsible for inventory control, food preparation and concession/food sales at Heritage Park Sports Complex. This position is for weekends only. Candidate must be able to work Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Essential Job Duties
• Assist in the set-up and clean-up of concessions.
• Ensure that all standards and procedures established by the Village of Wheeling Public Health Department, are followed including cleaning, temperature, and equipment repair.
• Ensure food’s quality and presentation is to the highest standard and consistent with established recipes
• Ensure cleanliness of all concession, food preparation and inventory operations
• Must be able to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner.
• Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
• Assist in the interpretation and enforcement of all state, county, and park district laws, rules, regulations and policies.
• Employee must maintain a positive working relationship with management, co-workers and the general public.
• Employee must possess the ability to deal with guests, staff and job responsibilities under stressful conditions.
• Participates in required training and safety programs as established by the Wheeling Park District.
• Supports and exhibits the organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition and appreciation, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people.
• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
QualificationsPosition Requirements
Currently attending High School or some college preferred. Previous knowledge of customer and food service management.
Skills and Abilities
- Possess proficient computer skills and ability to work with Point of Sale and Inventory software in RecTrac.
- Organized, and have sound mathematical skills.
- Able to balance multiple priorities.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival.
- A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
- Must have CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days.
- Must have TIPS and/or BASSET certification or be able to earn within 60 days.
- Must have Food Safety Manager and/or Food Handler certification or be able to earn within 60 days.

Working Conditions
- Employee may be exposed to natural and potentially extreme weather conditions.
- Driving to other park facilities will require the worker to be outside.
- May be exposed to cleaning agents, fertilizers, and toner chemicals.
