The Saw Filer is responsible for benching, grinding, and sharpening band and round saws while maintaining filing equipment. They also perform preventative maintenance and align sawmill machinery to ensure quality and size control.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least two years of experience as a band saw filer or precision millwright. Proficiency with precise measuring equipment and the ability to pass an aptitude test are required.
Weyerhaeuser, Plymouth Lumber mill located in Plymouth, NC has an opening for a saw filer with industrial experience. Competitive wage and benefits package included. All candidates must be safety conscious, self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, be experienced in working with other crafts, and have a desire to work in a market focused, team environment.
Candidates selected for this position will bench and grind band saws, hammer and sharpen carbide saws, troubleshoot and work on filing equipment, and align sawmill equipment.
The Saw Filer will be responsible filing room activities consisting of, but not limited to:
