Responsible for underwriting Stop-Loss, Excess Reinsurance, and other specialty products within the A&H team. This includes managing broker relationships, pricing quotes, and developing underwriting strategies for new and renewal business.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of professional experience in A&H business. Candidates must have demonstrated technical knowledge of Employer Stop Loss and established broker relationships.
Job Summary
The Senior Underwriter, Reinsurance, will be part of the Westfield A&H Underwriting team. You will be responsible for underwriting Stop-Loss, Excess Reinsurance and other specialty products.
Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer A&H, you will be a key contributor to the overall analysis and management of our new and renewal business.
You will work directly with brokers to successfully price and design quotes to acquire individual accounts and business produced through MGA/MGU’s.
You will manage the relationship and profitability of program business written through assigned Managing General Underwriters.
The senior underwriter will propose effective underwriting strategies across various product lines.
You will be part of and present new and renewal opportunities to our Peer Review team (UW, Actuarial, Claims).
Contribute to the development and execution of our underwriting strategies.
Developing strong relationships with our business partners is a key goal for the department (Brokers, TPAs, vendors, etc.) You will manage specific assigned relationships.
Engage with brokers and customers in-person when needed
