Position Summary
The Staff Coordinator is a frontline operational leader who works alongside Recovery Assistants while providing day-to-day supervision, onboarding, and training implementation for assigned Recovery Assistants and PRN staff across Men’s Detox and assist at Center for Women and Children, as needed. This position coordinates shift operations, applies training, policy, and licensing requirements to frontline expectations, coaches staff performance, and supports consistent practice across programs and shifts.
Essential Duties
Work alongside Recovery Assistants on the front line and routinely perform Recovery Assistant duties while providing active leadership, guidance, and support throughout the shift.
Coordinate shift workflow, staff assignments, breaks, coverage, priorities, and task completion to maintain safe, orderly client services and facility operations.
Provide clear shift direction, support effective handoffs in shift change, and ensure required duties and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Monitor and reinforce compliance with program procedures and applicable licensing, contract, confidentiality, health, safety, and documentation requirements; correct or elevate concerns as appropriate.
Implement the Recovery Assistant training plan, including orientation, first-week and 90-day training, required competencies, ongoing training, and re-training.
Coordinate new-hire onboarding and maintain accurate records of required training, certifications, credentials, and completion deadlines; report gaps to the Staff Manager.
Supervise, coach, evaluate, and develop assigned Recovery Assistants and PRN staff through regular (at minimum monthly) documented supervision, feedback, recognition, and clear performance expectations.
Address performance or conduct concerns promptly, maintain objective documentation, and partner with the Staff Manager on corrective action when needed.
Respond to client crises, medical concerns, unusual events, and critical incidents within training and scope; complete required notifications, documentation, and escalation.
Maintain timely, solution-focused communication with Recovery Assistants, Lead Recovery Assistants, peer Staff Coordinators, and management regarding staffing, training, safety, incidents, and follow-up needs. Promote trauma-informed, professionally boundaried services and a respectful, accountable work environment across programs and shifts.
Participate in management on-call schedule as assigned.
Attend work as scheduled and arrive at the designated time.
Perform work onsite due to the need to provide direct client services, staff leadership, and operational oversight.
Secondary Duties
Participate in recruitment, interviews, selection, and onboarding as assigned by the Staff Manager.
Maintain assigned training tools and materials and communicate needed updates, policy clarification, and recurring training gaps.
Participate in shift changes, leadership meetings, staff meetings, and required training as assigned.
Support facility organization, resource coordination, and professional relationships with community partners and emergency responders.
Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.

Demonstrated leadership, training, coaching, and communication skills; prior supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
Ability to track multiple training and performance requirements and maintain complete, timely supervisory records.
Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality requirements, agency policies and procedures, and interact professionally with a diverse workforce, clients, families, community partners, and the public.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and use de-escalation skills during crisis situations.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities, adapt to changing program needs, and work effectively as part of a team.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and required electronic recordkeeping platforms.
Familiarity with substance use disorders, withdrawal, trauma-informed care, and social-model detoxification, or willingness to learn.
Willingness to accept supervision and direction.
Must become and remain CPR and First Aid certified within the required timeframe.
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver's license, have an acceptable driving record, and be insurable under the agency's liability policy.
Must pass required Utah Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to walk up and down stairs and move throughout the facility.
Ability to interact with clients and staff for extended periods in a 24-hour residential setting.
