Responsibilities

The role ensures the smooth delivery of research operations by managing suppliers, fieldwork, and data cleaning to provide high-quality insights. It involves producing topline reports and overseeing the social listening platform to inform the tourism industry's strategy.

Requirements

  • The Data and Insight team at VisitScotland is a strategic enabler, turning data into decisions that drive value across Scotland’s visitor economy.  It is made up of four interconnected teams, Data Products & Platforms (DPP), Visitor, Market & Experience Insight (VMX), Strategic Measurement & Policy Insight (SMPI), and Insight Activation & Partnerships (IAP), the team delivers trusted data products, foresight, research, and compelling narratives that shape organisational strategy. 
  • This role sits within the Visitor, Market & Experience Insight (VMX) team which combines market research, visitor research, and user experience insight into one integrated capability. The team delivers quantitative and qualitative research, segmentation, and UX evidence to ensure decisions are informed by both the voice of the visitor and the lived user journey, aligned to organisational priorities and the 4S outcomes (Spread, Spend, Sustainability, Satisfaction).
  • The Insight Research Analyst (Operations) sits within a team of nine, led by the Senior Research Manager, and working closely with the Insight Research Manager – Quantitative, Insight Research Manager – Mixed Methods and the User Research and Experience team.

Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Grade: Grade E (£36,614 - £40,092) 

Interviews will be held week commencing 27 July 2026  

 

 
This role can be based out of any VisitScotland office location across Scotland. VisitScotland operates a hybrid working culture, partially office and partially home based.
