About the Role:
Virgin Media Television is looking for outstanding leaders to join their team as Supervising Producers for VMTV’s flagship daytime show Ireland AM. Reporting to the Ireland AM Executive Producer, the Supervising Producers will manage teams and oversee daily output to ensure a streamlined production model that continues to deliver important public service broadcasting every morning.
As valued people leaders, the Supervising Producers will oversee development and growth of the production team. Their focus will be on enhancing the content of the show and ensuring consistency that upholds the Ireland AM and Virgin Media Television brands. Forward planning, editorial guidance and people management are at the core of these roles, and the Supervising Producers will work as a team to deliver exceptional output year-round. Each leader will have defined areas of editorial responsibility and management lines to ensure Ireland AM continues to deliver topical, agenda-setting coverage, impactful human-interest stories, and entertaining escapist content that ensures viewers are always informed and connected.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
Oversee forward planning, new talent and events with a focus on driving new opportunities across the show.
Manage day-to-day editorial to ensure consistent, diverse content with a range of voices and perspectives.
Gallery supervision, including delivering constancy and working closely with studio crews.
Gallery output where required.
Develop and evolve existing content and format to keep the show fresh and relevant.
Managing teams and rotas, with a focus on developing team members and exploring pathways and opportunities for their continued growth.
Lead daily show reviews and bi-monthly tape reviews with the executive producer, team, and presenters.
Collaborate on long-term planning with the executive producer to further develop the show.
Provide feedback to all stakeholders to maintain Ireland AM’s editorial values.
Set annual goals for specific editorial areas and the overall show, emphasizing event-driven content.
Mentor and train new and existing talent.
Step in to deliver on guests, content and items where required.
Collaborate with the Commercial Department on potential content opportunities, ensuring all output meets the programme’s editorial standards and maintains high-quality audience engagement.
