Transform design concepts into detailed technical drawings and CNC cut files for wood and metal construction. Collaborate with project managers and fabricators to optimize build techniques and ensure project deadlines are met.
Requires 3-5 years of professional drafting and fabrication experience with advanced proficiency in Vectorworks. A high school diploma is required, and familiarity with trade shows or exhibits is strongly preferred.
Role Summary
The Technical Draftsperson (Scenic & Exhibit Fabrication) is responsible for transforming design concepts into detailed technical drawings and fabrication files for wood and metal construction. Using advanced Vectorworks 3D skills, they independently produce precise build drawings, CNC cut files, ground plans, and elevations to support fabrication teams. Collaborating closely with project managers, department heads, and fabricators, they develop efficient engineering solutions and optimize build techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, hands-on experience with fabrication methods, and the ability to troubleshoot design challenges. The Techincal Dradftsperson manages project deadlines effectively, communicates progress, and provides clear guidance for fabricators to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards.
