As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), anesthesia residents, and surgical teams by ensuring anesthesia equipment, supplies, and technology are prepared and ready for patient care.
As part of one of Virginia's leading academic medical centers, you will work in a fast-paced perioperative environment where your expertise and attention to detail directly contribute to patient safety, clinical excellence, and operational efficiency. This role offers a unique opportunity to be an integral member of the surgical team while supporting innovative procedures, advanced technologies, and a culture of continuous learning.
The Anesthesia Technician provides critical technical and clinical support to anesthesia care providers throughout the perioperative environment. This role is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies, assisting with invasive monitoring and vascular access procedures, and supporting operating room readiness for a wide range of surgical and procedural cases.
Working collaboratively with anesthesiologists, anesthesia residents, CRNAs, nurses, and surgical staff, the Anesthesia Technician helps ensure the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia services while supporting UVA Health's commitment to exceptional patient outcomes.

As an Anesthesia Technician, you'll work alongside highly skilled clinicians, gain exposure to advanced surgical procedures and technologies, and contribute directly to the care of patients across the Commonwealth and beyond.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment and supplies. Team members must possess strong communication, visual, and auditory skills and be able to respond quickly in a dynamic clinical environment. Exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals, and other healthcare-related hazards may occur. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required.
