Full job description
Performance of surveillance for monitoring results and adverse events occurring as a result of specific clinical research study in the Health Sciences Center. Job responsibilities include investigation reporting consultation and education of healthcare personnel.
Performs surveillance of research patient units for monitoring of results and detection of adverse events as a result of study protocol.
Provides consultation and/or assistance to units and/or clinics as it relates to study patients protocol and research guidelines.
Educational programs for patients staff and faculty are developed and delivered.
Assists the Principal Investigators during audits by sponsoring agency or other regulatory bodies.
Tracks appropriate data to assess patient’s response to study protocol.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Education and Experience. Experience: 3-5 years nursing experience. Licensure: Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently traveling (distance: ¼ mile). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 10lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $33.27 - $53.23 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
