Responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications, specifically within the sterile compounding IV room. Supports pharmacy operations by filling prescriptions and maintaining medication inventory under pharmacist supervision.
Requires a high school diploma, at least 6 months of relevant experience, and a Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration. Must hold a CPhT credential from NHA or PTCB.
Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Spends majority of time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. Opportunities for progression outside this career stream are typically limited without additional education or significant training and experience. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care areas.
Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation .
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: 6 months minimum relevant experience required.
Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required. CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
The pay range for this role is $20.68 - $28.47 hourly.
