The Director of Development is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program to benefit the UNM School of Medicine. This includes identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and planned gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree and at least 3 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably within higher education. The role requires the ability to manage donor relationships and collaborate with institutional leadership.

The School of Medicine is committed to remain a world-leading institution in three equally valued and inter-related missions of patient care, education, and research.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development program in coordination with the leadership of the UNM School of Medicine, the UNM Foundation staff, and colleagues. The successful applicant will work closely with School of Medicine and UNM Foundation leadership, staff, volunteers, and friends to identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors. The primary focus of the position is to identify and cultivate prospects and solicit major and planned gifts benefiting the School of Medicine. Cover letter and resume requested.
The expected salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. This range is an estimate, and the final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, consideration of any approved geographic salary differential, and alignment with internal equity guidelines to ensure consistency across similar roles.
