The Operating Room Associate assists surgical staff with daily unit operations, including patient transfers and positioning. They are also responsible for managing surgical supplies using preference cards and performing routine administrative tasks.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and maintain BCLS certification. At least 6 months of experience in an operating room or equivalent clinical setting is required.

Operating Room Associate101 Truman Medical CenterA unlicensed assistive member of the operating room who assists the board runner, staff nurses, and surgical technologists in the day to day operations of the unit. Responsibilities vary, such as helping with transfer and positioning of the surgical patient, using the surgeon preference card to charge and credit supplies for a surgical procedure, and the performance of routine tasks not limited to only the licensed personnel.
