Preferred locations for this remote role are Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, or Central US.
Summary: Provide technical support to customers both remotely and at their facilities to include color changes, process changes and troubleshooting, color education and training and PPAP submit support at the OEMs. Follow the Field Service, Technology Department and the UCC Business Plan. Personally, be involved in Continuous Improvement and Safety. Support UCC philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety and environmental culture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hands on troubleshooting of injection molding or extrusion processing issues at customer facilities.
Provide technical support to customers.
Make visits to customers to enhance customer-UCC relationship.
Respond to customer product concerns.
Support sales staff and help in the development of new accounts.
Provide documentation of service to customers and Business Plan goals.
Provide processing and color training.
Educate and consult on internal material, processing and machine issues.
Use UCC practices to achieve acceptable PPAP submittal parts.
Attend customer part submits at the OEMs when appropriate
Complete technical papers or presentations as required.
Use all established reporting procedures to submit customer feedback and issues via the CIA database.
Responsible for cleanliness of work area and company vehicle.
Follow UCC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.
Complete monthly Safety Observations and attend UCC Connect Meetings.
Preferred Experience, Training, and Skills:
Five years’ experience in injection molding.
Experience with color, color matching or color compounding.
Extensive experience working with the automotive industry.
Experience with use of spectrophotometer.
Strong working knowledge of resins and their capabilities.
Must have excellent color acuity.
Knowledge of the plastics industry.
Good communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Travel required.
