The Role:
The Asset Operations functions form the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operational Control Function has responsibility for developing, implementing, and managing the activities of key technical teams and infrastructure, which provide expertise and excellence on a national basis in collaboration with, and complementary to, the Regional and Local delivery of routine front-line water and wastewater services.
The Integrated Operations Team monitor the performance of the operating environment, ensuring risks to service continuity are identified and managed and that the Customer first approach is at the forefront of Asset Operations activities. This will include the performance of the asset base, optimising production and managing network integrity during interventions.
The Telemetry Operational Delivery Technician supports the ongoing operation and use of the National Telemetry System (NTS) across Uisce Éireann. You'll manage ServiceNow tickets, train users on NTS, coordinate with the IT/OT team on system patches and issues, and manage operational changes to system configurations and graphics (mimics). You report to the NTS Operational Delivery Lead.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage ServiceNow tickets from creation through closure: logging issues, tracking status, resolving or escalating, and closing with clear documentation
Provide first-line support and troubleshooting for NTS users across the organisation (Asset Planning, Asset Delivery, Operations, etc.)
Deliver training to users on NTS functionality, workflows, and new features
Coordinate with the IT/OT team on system patches, updates, security issues, and other technical matters affecting NTS
Manage operational changes to system configurations and mimics (updates to graphics, data points, alarm settings) in response to site changes or user requirements
Document operational processes and maintain system knowledge to support team training and continuity
Track and report on system performance, user support metrics, and training delivery
Other duties as requested from time to time
General Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 4 years' experience in IT support, business support, or similar technical support role
Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical matters to non-technical users
Comfortable learning new software systems and supporting users through change
Attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting and documentation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent issues
No prior telemetry or SCADA experience required; full training will be provided
Comfortable working with ticketing systems (ServiceNow) and software applications
Flexibility to develop depth in specific areas (ServiceNow, training, system coordination) while maintaining awareness of other functions

We aim high - proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
Full, clean and valid Irish category B driving licence is minimum requirement.Additional Driving License categories an advantage. A clean driving licence is defined as meaning that the applicant has not been convicted of an offence under the Road Traffic Acts (other than an offence for which the penalty is the imposition of penalty points).
