Assist Director of Housekeeping in supervising and managing the housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of resort’s interior public areas, guest rooms, front and back of house employee areas, exterior pool and public areas, restaurants, bars and ballrooms, spa and fitness areas. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. Monitors compliance with Forbes Service Standards and hotel policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Director of Housekeeping in supervising the housekeeping staff
• Establish standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff. Schedule to ensure adequate service
• Inspect and evaluate physical condition of establishment
• Submit work orders for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space to Engineering & Management
• Investigate new and improved cleaning instruments and methods
• Assist in selection and purchasing new furnishings
• Assist the Director of Housekeeping in the development of the department’s annual budget. Monitors performance against plan
• Establish and maintain cost control systems for staffing linen inventories and cleaning supplies
• Enforce policies and procedures
• Ensure that quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced
• Schedule staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy
• Maintain room quality based on resort objectives
• Monitor and maintain level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms and public areas
• Compile and report accurate status of guest rooms to front office
• Enforce standard procedures for the acceptance, security and return of guest lost and found items
• Maintain productivity and labor cost goals
• Notify Director of Housekeeping of any suspicious people or problems such as missing room items, damage, pets, engineering problems, etc
• Be dressed in clean, professional attire, wear appropriate footwear, and display your name tag at all times while on duty
• Adhere to all housekeeping procedures and house rules
• Conduct inventories of linen, supplies and equipment as needed
• Order and receive supplies, maintaining adequate inventory levels
• Ensure that staff is performing to hotel, and Forbes Travel Guide Standards
• Assume Director of Housekeeping role in their absence.
• Attend department meetings
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description

QualificationsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant organizational & leadership skills; strong ability to train and motivate.
- Three to five years related experience in a similar leadership position of a luxury hotel

Excellent verbal and good written skills required
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to learn new computer systems
Skilled in Excel and Word.

This position requires frequent movement throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry facilities, storage areas, and other operational spaces. As such, the team member may be exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold temperatures, and other inclement weather. The position may also involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other conditions commonly associated with housekeeping and hotel operations.
