Trinity Grading, Inc. is a leading heavy civil earthwork contractor specializing in mass grading, site development, and excavation. We are seeking an experienced Grade Checker to join our field operations team.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret grading plans, staking layouts, and construction drawings.
- Verify grades, elevations, slopes, and offsets throughout all phases of earthwork operations.
- Work closely with foremen, equipment operators, and survey crews to ensure grading is completed to project specifications.
- Set and maintain grade stakes and reference points as needed.
- Use laser levels, GPS equipment, and other grade-checking tools to confirm accuracy.
- Monitor cut/fill operations and communicate grade adjustments to equipment operators.
- Identify and report discrepancies in plans or field conditions.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Grade Checker on earthwork or mass grading projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret grading plans and civil drawings.
- Knowledge of cut/fill calculations, slopes, elevations, and grade tolerances.
- Experience using construction lasers, GPS grade-checking equipment, and surveying instruments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with GPS machine control systems such as Trimble, Topcon, or Leica.
- Knowledge of heavy earthmoving operations and equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience on commercial, residential, or public works grading projects.
