Position Summary
The Senior Construction Administration Architect leads the construction phase of complex projects, ensuring that work in the field aligns with the contract documents, design intent, building codes, and client expectations. This role serves as the primary point of contact during construction, coordinating closely with owners, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams to proactively resolve issues, manage risk, and maintain quality, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare prompt, thorough responses to RFIs and complete detailed reviews of submittals
Conduct regular site visits and develop concise, accurate field observation reports.
Act as key client liaison to ensure transparent communication, expectation management, and successful delivery of services.
Verify that construction activities and completed work align with the approved design intent.
Act as the primary liaison to the Design team during construction, coordinating design clarifications, updates, and issue resolution.
Document construction deficiencies and track the general contractor's corrective actions to resolution.
Review and evaluate payment applications and general contractors change orders for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain accurate records of drawing updates and revisions.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years' construction administration experience with an architecture firm, specifically on complex residential projects and concrete construction.
Revit proficiency preferred.
Demonstrated experience conducting site visits, preparing field reports, and working collaboratively with contractors in the field.
Precast concrete garage component experience is preferred but not required.
NAVFAC experience is preferred but not required.
Design Build project experience and military housing experience are a plus.
Work Environment
Frequent visits to active construction sites, sometimes requiring PPE and navigation of uneven surfaces, ladders, and partially complete structures.
This role will be primarily on the construction site, with most of their time spent in the field.
