The Opportunity

Studio B is building the future of entertainment-led marketing.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional Head of Production to lead one of the most important functions in our business. You'll oversee production, post-production and our in-house studio, creating the systems, processes and leadership that enable world-class work to be delivered at scale.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how an ambitious, fast-growing creative studio operates, partnering with some of the world's biggest brands while helping build the foundations for our own original IP and long-form content.

Own and lead a production function that delivers exceptional work without compromising creativity, quality or commercial performance.

You'll create an environment where brilliant people can do their best work, ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest possible standard as Studio B continues to scale.

Where You'll Make an Impact

Production Leadership

• Lead Studio B's end-to-end production function from greenlight through delivery.

• Lead production kick-offs, project reviews and wrap meetings.

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex production challenges, clients and talent.

• Continuously improve workflows, systems and ways of working, keeping quality consistent across concurrent projects.

Commercial Performance

• Be accountable for the commercial performance of productions - budgets, forecasts, margins and delivery - protecting margin without compromising creative ambition, and escalating risks early.

• Review production budgets and approve commercial decisions across the slate.

• Work closely with our CFO and Production Accountant on financial due diligence, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across every production.

Resource Planning

• Lead production capacity planning across the business, ensuring every project is properly resourced.

• Forecast hiring and freelance requirements; build a deep freelance, crew and supplier network to flex around the slate.

• Balance utilisation, workload and business priorities as Studio B grows.

Post-Production

• Oversee the in-house post pipeline - edit, grade, sound, motion design and finishing - ensuring capacity planning matches the production slate.

• Establish post workflows, media management and QC standards for broadcast, social and platform-specific delivery.

• Balance in-house post capacity with trusted external partners where projects demand it.

Digital & Social Production

• Run high-velocity production pipelines for social and YouTube alongside traditional stage and broadcast workflows - different cost models, speeds and crew shapes operating in parallel.

• Own platform-native delivery: specs, versioning at volume, and post workflows built for iteration rather than single hero deliverables.

• Support creator-led shoots where talent operates as the production unit, with the right lightweight production wrap around them.

Studio & Sound Stage Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of our working studio and sound stage: scheduling, crewing, kit, maintenance and utilisation.

• Own health & safety compliance, insurance and risk assessment across all studio operations.

• Maximise commercial utilisation of the stage - internal productions, client shoots and third-party hire.

• Manage facility budgets, capital expenditure planning and supplier relationships.

Business Affairs, Compliance & Systems

• Own production business affairs: talent and contributor agreements, music licensing, usage rights and clearances - protecting margin and managing liability, particularly on brand-funded work.

• Ensure production insurance, E&O, child performance licensing and location/drone permitting are all compliant and adhered to.

• Ensure GDPR and data compliance on shoots (contributors, minors) and secure handling of client assets and media.

• Own the production tech stack: production management tooling, media asset management and archive strategy.

Leadership & Team Development

You'll lead and develop Studio B's production leadership team, creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. This includes:

• Managing and coaching a team of 7 including Production Managers, Post Production Managers and Producers.

• Developing future leaders and supporting career development and succession planning.

• Setting clear objectives and expectations, with regular 1:1s and performance conversations.

• Building a collaborative culture of craft, accountability and calm delivery.

• Championing diverse and inclusive crewing practices, including tracking and reporting crew diversity where clients require it.

Cross-Functional Leadership

You'll work closely with Creative, Client Services, newly hired Production Accountant and CFO, People & Culture, and the Leadership & Executive Team to keep productions commercially successful and creatively strong.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 3 months you will:

• Every project has a live budget, forecast and margin position visible to leadership.

• Parallel production models established: high-craft stage and broadcast work running alongside high-velocity social and YouTube pipelines.

• Studio and sound stage utilisation up across internal productions, client shoots and third-party hire.

• A production leadership team with clear objectives, development plans and a view on succession.

• Projects consistently delivered on time, on budget and to standard, with margin performance improving.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines deep production expertise with commercial sharpness and inspiring leadership.

Essential:

• Significant senior production leadership experience within a creative studio, film or TV studio, or production company - you've run production at scale, not just individual projects.

• Proven ownership of both production and post-production functions, with fluency across the full pipeline.

• Digital production fluency: proven experience running social-first and YouTube production at volume alongside high-craft stage/broadcast work - comfortable operating different cost and speed models side by side.

• Hands-on experience managing a physical studio facility and/or sound stage, including crewing, scheduling and H&S.

• Track record of leading and developing teams of 20+ across multiple disciplines.

• Strong commercial and financial awareness: budgeting, margin management, negotiation and resource planning across a multi-project slate.

• Working knowledge of production business affairs: rights, usage, licensing and clearances.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to make decisions at pace.

Desirable:

• Experience across both brand-funded and original/IP-led content.

• Direct experience of creator-led production models where talent is the production unit.

• Albert certification / sustainable production accreditation.
