The Regional Medical Affairs Manager serves as the scientific and clinical leader for Precision Oncology and Molecular Diagnostics within the South region (Italy, Spain, Portugal), bridging cutting-edge genomic technologies with clinical practice. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced molecular pathologist, clinical laboratory leader, or oncology diagnostics expert to influence the adoption of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and precision medicine across leading healthcare institutions. Working closely with key opinion leaders, academic medical centers, pathology networks, and international Medical Affairs teams, the Regional Medical Affairs Manager will help shape evidence-generation initiatives, support translational research collaborations, and drive the implementation of innovative molecular diagnostic solutions that improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership
Support implementation of regional Medical Affairs strategies aligned with global and EMEA objectives.
Provide scientific and clinical expertise in oncology, pathology, and molecular diagnostics.
Monitor emerging scientific, clinical, and competitive developments relevant to NGS and precision oncology.
Contribute to regional evidence-generation plans supporting clinical validity and utility.
Scientific Partnerships and Clinical Collaboration
Establish peer-to-peer scientific relationships with leading molecular pathologists, laboratory directors, translational researchers, and oncology specialists across Italy.
Identify unmet clinical needs and emerging trends in molecular diagnostics to inform strategy.
Foster collaborative research programs with academic institutions and comprehensive cancer centers.
Support innovative applications of NGS technologies in oncology and molecular pathology.
Serve as a scientific liaison between the pathology community and Thermo Fisher Scientific global innovation teams.
Medical Education & Communication
Deliver scientific and clinical training to commercial, marketing, and cross-functional teams.
Support development and review of scientific materials, educational programs, and medical content.
Provide scientific support for product launches and lifecycle management activities.
Evidence Generation & Publications
Support identification and execution of clinical evidence-generation opportunities within Italy.
Contribute to publications, congress abstracts, posters, and presentations.
Collect and disseminate medical insights to inform organizational strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc in Life Sciences, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field).
1–3+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, Molecular Diagnostics, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, or Pharmaceutical industries.
1+ years experience leading or working within a molecular pathology, genomics, or clinical diagnostics laboratory.
Expertise in molecular oncology, biomarker testing, NGS workflows, or precision medicine programs.
Experience implementing and validating molecular diagnostic assays in a clinical laboratory environment.
Established relationships within the Italian pathology, oncology, or precision medicine community are highly desirable.
Track record of scientific publications, presentations, or collaborative clinical research.
Fluency in Italian and English. (Spanish and/or Portuguese as plus)
Ability to travel up to 50% within Italy and occasionally across Europe.
