The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the daily visual assessment and repair of the hotel's physical structure, mechanical systems, and HVAC equipment. They perform preventative maintenance, address guest issues professionally, and ensure all safety standards and OSHA procedures are followed.
Candidates must have prior experience as a Hotel Maintenance Mechanic with basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. HVAC certification and previous resort experience are preferred, along with the physical ability to perform demanding manual tasks.

We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Hotel Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC Certified.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· The Maintenance Engineer conducts a daily walk-through and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance of physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C and all other hotel systems and related equipment.
· Replace non-operating TV's and phones in the hotel rooms and other equipment as necessary
· Replace light bulbs throughout the facility
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and cleaning programs
· Notify supervisor on duty in the event of equipment or system failure
· Repair minor plumbing or other system problems as requested
· Diagnose lock problems and repair/replace the unit
· Troubleshooting HVAC unit, change filters, empty and clean lines and pans, test thermostats, reset units
· Troubleshooting toilets, faucets and shower plumbing
· Responding to guest issues with a courteous and professional manner
· Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.
· Performs any reasonable request made by management.
· Assists with all maintenance and preventative maintenance to include: heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, front and back of house spaces, A/C units, ice machines, lighting, emergency generators, roof exhausts, etc.
· Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time.
· Understands and practices all lock out-tag out procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
· Performs maintenance checks of equipment and logs properly.
· Reports all safety and security concerns to the Director of Engineering or the Manager on Duty immediately.
· Responds to all emergency situations prepared to assist.
· Participates in ongoing maintenance programs for event space, public space, kitchens and all convention center equipment.
· Performs inventory duties as required.
· Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of all work space and storage areas.
· Complete projects as determined by the Director of Engineering.
Requirements:
· Prior experience as a Hotel Maintenance Mechanic.
· Previous hotel/resort experience preferred
· Must have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs and maintenance.
· HVAC background and certification preferred.
· Furniture repair experience preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills; this is a guest contact position.
· Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: climbing ladders, standing or sitting for extended periods, reaching, lifting, moving heavy objects, using hands/arms/legs to get into small areas to repair equipment
· Willing and able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
