Full job description

Clearway is a leading UK provider of integrated security and intelligent protection services, safeguarding people, property, and assets. We are seeking a QSHE Coordinator (HSEQ + Facilities Support) to join our Runcorn site, with travel to other Clearway locations including Goole and Halesowen as required.

The QSHE Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of our Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality arrangements across office, warehouse and field operations. This role ensures that systems are implemented in practice, risks are assessed and controlled, training and competence records are maintained, and inspections and investigations are completed to a consistent and auditable standard. The role also provides structured Facilities support, including PPM coordination, compliance checks and contractor control at site level.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

HSEQ Coordination & Compliance Support

  • Support the implementation of Clearway’s HSEQ policies, procedures and safe systems of work across office, warehouse and operational teams.

  • Maintain and control site H&S documentation, ensuring current versions are accessible and up to date.

  • Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for routine H&S queries from employees and managers.

  • Support compliance with UK H&S requirements, including risk assessments, consultation, inspections and incident reporting.

Risk Assessments & Safe Systems of Work

  • Assist with the development, review and continuous improvement of general and task-specific risk assessments, method statements, SSOW/RAMS and COSHH assessments.

  • Ensure changes in equipment, processes, sites or client requirements trigger timely review of risk assessments.

  • Track corrective actions to ensure control measures are implemented and evidenced.

Training, Competence & Compliance Tracking

  • Maintain the HSEQ training matrix and associated records.

  • Coordinate internal and external training bookings (e.g., first aid, fire warden, DSE, ladder safety, FLT awareness).

  • Monitor certification expiry dates and produce compliance reports for managers.

  • Support training needs analysis and refresher planning aligned to operational risk and client expectations.

Inductions, Engagement & Safety Communications

  • Deliver or coordinate inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.

  • Produce toolbox talks, safety briefs, alerts and monthly safety themes.

  • Maintain attendance records and follow up on actions using digital tools where appropriate.

  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across sites.

Inspections, Assurance & Auditing

  • Conduct and coordinate routine site inspections (office, warehouse and yard).

  • Complete PPE checks, fire safety checks, COSHH reviews and housekeeping observations.

  • Support internal audits and management system readiness activities.

  • Track actions through to closure and maintain accurate assurance records.

Incident Reporting & Investigation

  • Support the reporting and investigation of incidents, near misses and quality events.

  • Gather statements, evidence and timelines, and assist with root cause analysis.

  • Track corrective and preventive actions and produce monthly H&S performance updates.

Contractor & Facilities Coordination

  • Support contractor compliance for works carried out on Clearway sites, including RAMS, insurance and competence checks.

  • Coordinate access, inductions and site rules for contractors.

  • Maintain PPM schedules and coordinate statutory and servicing visits (e.g., fire systems, emergency lighting, PAT testing, extinguisher servicing).

  • Ensure service certificates and reports are received, filed and actions tracked.

Office H&S & General Administration

  • Support DSE administration and office-based H&S queries.

  • Assist with document control, meeting coordination and action tracking.

  • Maintain compliance trackers (e.g., training, PPE issue, driving licence checks).

  • Support workplace welfare standards and H&S-related purchasing requests in line with company controls.

Requirements

Requirements include key skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Practical experience in H&S, environmental or quality coordination within a multi-activity environment (office and operational).

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across sites.

  • Confident communicator, comfortable delivering inductions and toolbox talks.

  • Working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and risk assessment principles.

  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and escalate non-compliance appropriately.

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.

  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards).

  • IOSH or environmental awareness training.

  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

  • Experience delivering training sessions or toolbox talks.
