MGX Shop Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will be located at the Baton Rouge, LA branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.
Must be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Welding experience with AWS D1.1 certification, or ability to obtain certification within 3-6 months after hire preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time position with typical 1st shift hours. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

PAY & TRAINING:
This position offers a pay range between $23.00 - $50.00 per hour depending on skills and qualifications for non-bargaining employees. Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.
A customized training plan and career path is identified for each technician and provided within the first week of employment, outlining growth and advancement opportunities.
