The Broadcast Director is responsible for directing daily live newscasts and recorded programs using both automation and manual switching. They must oversee the overall visual quality of broadcasts and perform technical troubleshooting to ensure seamless on-air operations.
A bachelor's degree in Communications or TV Production is preferred, along with approximately three years of experience in production automation and newsroom systems. Candidates must be able to adapt quickly to breaking news and work effectively within a team environment.

WUSA-TV Washington, the TEGNA CBS affiliate in Washington seeks a Broadcast Director. The primary responsibility of this position is directing daily newscasts and other local programs, utilizing both production automation and manual switching operations. The Broadcast Director will work closely with our news, production, and technical teams to produce fast-paced, compelling and comprehensive newscasts and programs.
We are looking for someone to bring forward-thinking production ideas, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage quality control at a high level. In addition, the candidate must also be familiar with all studio operations, including floor directing, camera operation, teleprompter, graphics creation, audio, lighting, non-linear editing, content management systems and master control systems.
