As a FinCrime Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our financial operations. Operating within the Financial Crime team, which collaborates closely with Compliance, Legal, and Operations, you will be instrumental in detecting and addressing risks related to money laundering, fraud, sanctions, and other illicit activities. Your expertise will contribute to protecting the company’s reputation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
✨ Main Tasks
Your primary mission is to act as a 2nd line KYC/AML expert, providing sound judgment on complex cases escalated by the 1st line, safeguarding high-risk onboarding decisions, and strengthening the organization's overall AML/CTF risk control framework.
KYC Advisory - 2nd line: Analyze escalations from 1st line (KYC team) on complex cases and deliver a well-reasoned expert opinion.
Screening & due diligence: Conduct in-depth due diligence on PEP, adverse media, and sanctions matches (risk assessment, documentation).
Complex structures: Analyze and document complex ownership structures (beneficial owners, intermediary entities, multi-jurisdiction control chains).
Onboarding decision: Formulate a well-reasoned recommendation (onboard, decline, or request additional documentation) based on solid regulatory analysis.
Regulatory interpretation: Provide expert guidance on regulatory implications (KYC, AML) to support and guide the 1st-line teams.
Draft Procedures and SOPs to support the continuous improvement of policies and controls.
Training: Support the upskilling of 1st-line teams on KYC regulatory topics (workshop, training session).

The Financial Crime team is composed of around 15 individuals and acts as the 2nd line of defense on onboarding risk, bringing deep regulatory expertise to complex KYC cases escalated by our operational teams. We work hand in hand with the KYC 1st line team, providing expert guidance and sound judgment on the most complex and high-risk cases they escalate to us. We also partner closely with Product & Automation teams to continuously improve our tooling, screening processes, and onboarding workflows, and with Internal Control to ensure our decisions and procedures remain robust, well-documented, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
You have around 5 to 10 years of experience, including at least 1 to 2 years in a 2nd line compliance or advisory role on onboarding cases, ideally within a traditional bank, fintech or payments provider
You have a strong knowledge of KYC /AML regulation (FATF recommandations, EU AML directives etc)
You have hands on experience handling PEP, adverse media, and sanctions cases, as well as analyzing complex ownership structures (beneficial owners, multi- jurisdiction setups.
You have a strong regulatory analysis skills and a rigorous, structured mindset.
You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to formalize clear, defensible opinions and liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
You have a curious and proactive mindset, driven to get to the bottom of every case.
ou show strong judgment and decision-making skills, able to take a stance on ambiguous cases by leveraging your expertise.
You are fluent in English and/or French; a 3rd European language is a plus.
