Job Summary
The Senior Logistics Specialist - Warehouse and Cold Chain Management is responsible for executing general warehouse operations and activities. He/She performs warehouse operations in adherence to procedures, and the safe and efficient operations of goods and equipment.
He/She also coordinates the deliveries, asset management and transaction documentation process, and performs the secure handling of goods. He/She also implements improvement opportunities within the warehouse operations.
He/She may be required to work in rotating shifts and carry heavy loads. He/She is expected to be vigilant, decisive, and possess effective communication skills.
Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)
Business Administration Operations
• Participate in value-based culture and a culture of accountability in the organisation
• Adhere to organisation’s governance, compliance issues and reporting processes
• Adhere to organisation’s data governance and protection processes
• Work with allocated resources within business activities
• Apply operational policies, standards and procedures
• Perform basic risk assessment
• Support the department in incident or crisis management initiatives
Business Process/Continuous Improvement
• Perform continuous improvement activities
• Perform documentation of business requirements
• Apply environmental protection procedures
• Perform activities to improve quality of logistics services
Safety and Health
• Perform WSH activities to ensure personal compliance to requirements
• Perform safety and health risk assessment
• Report WSH incidents
• Suggest WSH solutions to address localised shortcomings in existing processes
Technology Application
• Work with team members to support technology projects
• Apply latest technology to improve operations in own work areas
• Operate technology or electronic tools and devices
Warehousing, Cargo and Material Handling
• Review warehousing quality issues in a timely manner
• Coordinate arrangement or rotation of warehouse cargo and items
• Perform warehouse security operations in adherence to plans
• Perform stock control and housekeeping operations of warehouse cargo and items
• Execute operations according to different warehousing situations and contingencies
• Track cargo-handling schedules to ensure timelines are complied with
• Coordinate warehouse operations in accordance to 5S (sort, set, shine, standardise, sustain) techniques
• Apply methods and techniques to handle dangerous goods
• Apply methods and techniques to handle time and temperature-sensitive cargo
• Perform cargo consolidation activities
• Perform transhipment and transloading operations
• Facilitate compliance of height, weight and special handling requirements in stacking, moving and arranging of items on pallets according to storage plan
Job Requirements
Basic knowledge of SAP / Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Proficiency in basic Ms Office Applications
Relevant experience in a warehouse environment
Tasks may involve lifting and moving packages
Good team player, able to work well independantly and in a team
Fork Lift licence is preferred.
Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience
GCE N/O Levels / NITEC
1-2 years of relevant working experience in warehouse operations.
