Full job description

Description

The Network & Infrastructure Administrator is the primary hands-on owner of campus-wide technology infrastructure supporting one of Seattle’s most iconic, high-traffic visitor destinations. This role supports the systems that power daily operations across the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, IMAX at the Center, retail locations, and operational facilities. This is a hands-on, operational IT role in a live guest environment, where infrastructure directly supports visitor experience, events, and business operations every day of the year.

This is not a traditional office-based IT position.

This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of infrastructure in a highly visible, operational environment.

You will support systems that guests interact with every day, in a setting where technology, operations, and experience are tightly connected. The work is hands-on, varied, and impactful – ranging from infrastructure support to live event troubleshooting to operational readiness for peak guest periods.

For the right person, this role offers a rare combination of ownership, variety, and real-world operational impact in a unique Seattle landmark environment.

You will work across a dynamic environment where technology is tied directly to real-world operations, including:

  • Guest attraction systems and ticketing platforms
  • Point-of-sale and retail environments
  • Event and venue technology systems
  • Physical network infrastructure across multiple buildings
  • Operational systems supporting daily guest flow

Work varies day-to-day based on events, traffic volume, maintenance windows, and operational needs. Downtime is visible and directly impacts guests.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

This role is best suited for someone who thrives in hands-on, operational IT environments and enjoys variety in their day-to-day work.

You may be a strong fit if you have experience in:

  • Attractions, museums, stadiums, theaters, or live event venues
  • Hospitality environments (hotels, resorts, cruise ships)
  • MSPs supporting multiple clients and systems
  • Multi-site retail or distributed infrastructure environments
  • Campus or public-facing operational IT environments

You are likely successful in this role if you:

  • Prefer solving real-world problems across multiple systems
  • Are comfortable working in physical environments (equipment rooms, venues, operational spaces)
  • Enjoy being close to live operations and guest experience
  • Are energized by ownership and fast-moving priorities
  • Like variety over narrow specialization

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Network Operations

  • Own day-to-day operation of network and infrastructure systems across multiple venues and buildings.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot switches, routers, wireless systems, and firewalls in production environments.
  • Resolve infrastructure issues impacting guest-facing and operational systems.
  • Perform hands-on infrastructure work including installation, configuration, and physical troubleshooting.

Operational & Venue Technology Support

  • Support systems including ticketing, POS, access control, surveillance, and event technology platforms.
  • Provide real-time technical support during live operations and peak guest periods.
  • Partner with operations and guest experience teams to resolve issues quickly in active environments.

Cross-System Troubleshooting & Ownership

  • Diagnose and resolve issues spanning networking, systems, physical infrastructure, and vendor platforms.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for infrastructure-related operational issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams through issue resolution and follow-through.

Operational Continuity

  • Support scheduled outages, maintenance windows, and infrastructure change activities.
  • Participate in operational readiness for events, seasonal peaks, and high-visibility periods.
  • Help ensure systems remain stable and recoverable in dynamic operating conditions.

Security & Reliability

  • Maintain baseline infrastructure security practices including patching, access control, and configuration standards.
  • Work with third-party cybersecurity providers to support monitoring and incident response.
  • Escalate and address risks that may impact operational systems or guest experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network support, or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, systems, and physical IT infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and wireless networking.
  • Experience working with physical infrastructure (hardware, cabling, network equipment).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with shifting operational priorities.
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Willingness to support scheduled outages, events, and occasional off-hours needs.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in venue, hospitality, attraction, or live operations environments.
  • MSP or multi-client infrastructure support experience.
  • Familiarity with POS, ticketing, access control, or surveillance systems.
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet, or similar networking platforms.
  • Exposure to AV systems, event technology, or live production environments.
  • Experience supporting IT systems that directly impact real-time operations.
