  • Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Support annual financial audits and benefit plan audits.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements for regulatory agencies and lending institutions.
  • Produce internal financial reporting and provide variance analysis and business insights.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and documentation of accounting processes and procedures.

  • Five (5) years of job-related experience in accounting processes and transactions as listed above.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word in performing and preparing financial analysis, financial statements and reports, process documentation, proposals, recommendations, and presentations to management.
  • Understanding of accounting and/or payroll practices where applicable to ensure compliance with standards
  • Work independently on assignments with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and inquiry skills, with the ability to exercise an appropriate degree of professional skepticism
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certification in an accounting or finance related area (e.g. CPA or MBA).
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software systems such as Oracle NetSuite
  • Proficiency with UKG Pro payroll software
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification
