How will you contribute to Skroutz vision

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Automation Senior Manager to oversee, optimize, and revolutionize our fulfillment center operations. In this role, you will hold true end-to-end ownership in the reliability of all fulfillment center processes, serving as the strategic driving force behind our operational throughput. You will bridge the gap between traditional logistics and cutting-edge technology by architecting our current automation systems, designing and implementing new automated solutions, and strategically orchestrating fulfillment center spatial layout - including shelf ordering and inventory re-allocation.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven problem solver and team leader, with a proven track record of scaling fulfillment center efficiencies, managing complex vendor relationships, and leading high-impact automation projects from conception to execution while coaching production teams directly on the field.

What you will be doing

Process Optimization & Workflow Design

• End-to-End Ownership: We are looking for a leader that will have end-to-end ownership in the reliability of all our processes. You should have a keen eye for LEAN to analyze, map, and continuously improve all fulfillment center operational workflows (receiving, decanting, stocking, picking, packing, and sorting) to maximize throughput and minimize cycle times.
• Standardization & Knowledge Management: You will serve as the source for standardization and setting our production goals (KPIs). Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), intricate network topology maps, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all fulfillment center processes.
• Lean Champion: You bring a Kaizen mentality to the field; utilize appropriate methodologies to identify bottlenecks, implementing sustainable corrective actions and delivering direct production improvements.
• Change Management: Lead by example and inspire our production teams by coaching them on the field; oversee the testing, commissioning, and employee training for all newly introduced technologies, workflows, and process updates to ensure smooth operational transitions.

Procurement & Capacity

• Facilities & Layout Optimisation: Act as a spatial visionary to dynamically optimize the fulfillment center layout and strategies, leveraging the wealth of data available in Skroutz..
• Infrastructure ScalingStrategy: Drive the strategic scaling of our facilities; lead the design, specification, and procurement of storage systems ensuring a high return on our capital deployment.

Automation & Innovation

• Current System Oversight: Challenge the status quo and serve as the strategic driving force and subject matter expert (SME) for all existing fulfillment center automation systems ( WMS, WCS , Autostore, Sorting station etc. )
• Future-Proofing & Tech Integration: Own the automation roadmap; scout, evaluate, and business-case new automation technologies (e.g., robotic picking, vision systems, automated packaging) to scale operations and maximize ROI.
• Integration Support: Bridge the gap between physical automation and our digital ecosystem; partner with IT and software teams to ensure seamless data flow and uptime continuity between the fulfillment center Management System (WMS) and physical automation hardware, building high-availability systems.

• 6+ years of progressive experience in managing automated fulfillment environments, logistics engineering, or scaling complex operations.
• Evaluate and manage industrial equipment and infrastructure, identifying opportunities for technological upgrades and automation integration.
• Partner with vendor engineering teams to deploy automated material handling equipment (MHE) and robotic solutions, managing complex SLAs.
• Strong technical command over Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) architecture and data flow integration to perform predictive bottleneck analysis.
• Comfortable with developing software and building hardware.
• Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels and attitude to maintain in the project team a culture of teamwork, driving performance, engagement and change alignment.
