Sensata Technologies is looking for a Director, Global EHS Performance & Systems to provide strategic leadership for our global Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) governance, management systems, compliance framework, data analytics, and safety culture programs.
This role will help shape how EHS is managed across the enterprise by setting global standards, strengthening compliance and audit governance, improving data visibility, and enabling proactive, risk-based decision-making. The position plays a key role in building consistent EHS practices, reliable performance insights, and scalable learning and communication programs across a complex global manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Management Systems & Compliance
Lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of global EHS management systems, standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Own the global EHS legal register, regulatory tracking, compliance verification, and regulatory reporting governance.
Oversee audit, assurance, and certification programs, including internal, external, and site-level audits.
Govern corrective and preventive action processes, ensuring timely closure and effectiveness of actions.
Lead global processes related to Management of Change, Prevention through Design, and pre-startup EHS reviews.
Ensure consistent application of EHS standards and compliance requirements across global operations.
EHS Data Analytics & Performance
Own the global EHS KPI framework, including KPI definitions, performance dashboards, reporting standards, and global roll-ups.
Lead the development and governance of EHS performance reporting, including dashboards, objectives, targets, and program planning.
Oversee the enterprise EHS digital platform and related systems for KPI tracking, incident management, and action tracking.
Strengthen EHS data quality, reporting discipline, and performance visibility for leadership and operational teams.
Use data and insights to support proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and strategic decision-making.
Culture, Learning & Communications
Lead global EHS learning and development programs, including EHS Academy curriculum, competency frameworks, coaching, and training compliance tracking.
Drive global EHS communication, consultation, and best-practice sharing across sites and functions.
Lead programs that strengthen safety culture, employee engagement, hazard recognition, and leadership accountability.
Partner with global and regional stakeholders to support adoption of EHS standards, tools, and improvement initiatives.
Build learning and communication approaches that help translate EHS strategy into practical behaviors across the organization.
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner closely with EHS Operational Excellence, Sustainability, Facilities, Security, and site EHS teams.
Provide global leadership with reliable EHS performance visibility and actionable insights.
Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive alignment, accountability, and sustainable improvement.
Support a proactive, data-driven, and prevention-focused safety culture across the enterprise.
Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
10+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong experience in management systems, compliance, and performance leadership.
Demonstrated experience leading or governing EHS management systems, preferably across global or multi-site organizations.
Lead auditor competence for ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
Experience governing EHS digital platforms, KPI frameworks, dashboards, and performance reporting.
Proven ability to develop and execute digital, data, or systems strategies across complex organizations.
Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to build safety culture, learning programs, and communication frameworks at scale.
Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Professional certification such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.
Experience with Power BI and/or administration of EHS software platforms.
Experience deploying global EHS standards, systems, and programs across multiple sites or regions.
Lead auditor competence for ISO 50001.
Experience in global manufacturing, industrial, or technology-driven environments.
