Job Purpose
This role drives customer acquisition, account growth, and long-term client retention across Veteran Logistics' specialized service offerings. The scope of the role — from prospecting and closing new business to managing and expanding an existing book of accounts — is calibrated to the level being hired, as outlined below. In every case, the goal is the same: deliver exceptional service while growing revenue in a fast-moving logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and close new business across key service lines: FTL, LTL, bulk transport, heavy haul, open-deck, drop trailer, temperature-controlled, and managed transportation.
- Build and manage a portfolio of client accounts, delivering consultative logistics solutions aligned to customer needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients, educating them on Veteran Logistics' capabilities — from precision load matching to performance analytics.
- Use real-time visibility tools and carrier relationships to head off disruptions, protect on-time delivery, and exceed customer expectations.
- Coordinate with operations, carriers, and internal teams to keep sales commitments aligned with delivery capability and execution.
- Track and report on key performance indicators — loading accuracy, transit times, customer satisfaction — to continuously sharpen sales strategy.
- Nurture long-term partnerships built on consistency, integrity, and a genuine commitment to client success.
- Stay agile and adaptable as Veteran Logistics scales and expands its service offerings.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Ranges by level — see Level Guide above; familiarity with specialized freight services preferred at every level.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency with logistics/CRM systems; comfortable making data-driven decisions.
