The technician is responsible for installing and maintaining portable traffic data collection equipment, such as pneumatic tubes and AI video systems, across various sites. They must safely operate a company vehicle, manage equipment inventory, and upload collected data to an FTP site.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the ability to lift 40 pounds. The role requires a willingness to travel weekly and the ability to work outdoors in fluctuating weather conditions.

Summary
An Engineering Data Traffic Technician is a key member of our Portable Traffic Data Collection division, to be based in the Georgia metro area, strongly preferred. Our Engineering technicians are responsible for performing all types of traffic studies including automated classification and volume counts using pneumatic tubes or non-intrusive video-based AI technology and turning movement counts using video systems. Each week, a technician will be required to install road tubes or camera systems at up to 50 different locations across their coverage area. This will require maintaining a stock of between 50 and 60 portable event recorders, maintaining a company-owned and insured vehicle, safely driving to and parking along the roadway, and installing equipment in or alongside the roadway. This is a physical job which requires you to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Safety is our top priority! Good time management, extensive travel will be required to near by cities and states, willingness to travel, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential.
