Full job description

Most social jobs are a treadmill. Post today, post tomorrow, keep the grid alive, and hope the numbers drift up. There's no finish line and no scoreboard, just an endless calendar.

Launches are different. A launch has a date. A launch has a countdown, a room filling up, a founder refreshing the registration page at 2am. When it works, you see it work, in real time, in a number that either moved or didn't. Some people find that terrifying. If you find it thrilling, keep reading.

Pod 1 at Rare Necessity runs webinar and founder-led launches. This is the pod where a coach, consultant, or founder comes to us with an offer and a date, and we build the social engine that fills the seats. You'd own social across a portfolio of these launches, from the first tease to the final replay push. On your fully managed accounts you run everything: ideation, content, community, the daily rhythm of a launch week. On your strategy accounts you build the launch calendar and scripts and hand the founder a plan they can run.

You'd become fluent in the one thing most social people never learn: how to make a feed sell something on a deadline. Not vanity growth. Registrations, show-up rates, and buyers. That skill is rare, it's worth real money, and you'll practice it on a new launch every few weeks.

The person who thrives here runs toward a deadline instead of away from it, and can feel the difference between content that gets likes and content that gets signups. The person who struggles here wants a calm, predictable week every week. Launch weeks are not calm, and that's the job.

What you get

A specialty, not just a job. Anyone can post. Very few social people can run the content side of a live launch and hit a registration target. That's a specialist skill and it pays like one. You'll build it here on real launches with real revenue on the line, and you'll leave with case studies most social managers never get near: "filled a 500-seat webinar," not "grew the account 12%."

Founders who actually care what you make. You're working with coaches, consultants, and founders who are personally invested in every launch, because it's their name and their revenue. That means real feedback, real stakes, and the satisfaction of watching someone's business move because of content you built. It also means you'll get good fast, because nobody sharpens you like a founder in launch week.

A system that's already built. Pod 1 runs on a launch playbook the team has refined across dozens of campaigns. Content sequences, countdown frameworks, hook libraries, and a Pod Lead who's run these before and hands you the map on day one. You bring the voice and the execution. You're not inventing the launch, you're running a proven one for a new founder.

A load that's built to be survivable. Launch weeks are intense, so the pod is structured so you're never running seven launches at full tilt at once. You carry a mix of fully managed launch accounts and lighter strategy accounts, and the calendar is sequenced so your peak weeks don't all land on the same Monday. Intense in bursts, by design. Never underwater.

Comp that scales with your book. Base is $1,700/month for your standard book. As you take on more accounts, your comp grows with it, automatically. Hit the six and twelve-month marks and there's a retention bonus waiting. Most contracts pay you the same whether you carry three launches or seven. This one pays you for what you actually run.

What you'll own

  • Run social end to end on your managed launches. From the first tease through cart close and replay, you own ideation, content, posting, and the daily launch rhythm.
  • Build the launch content calendar for every account in your book. Map the full runway: pre-launch warmup, open cart, and close. The calendar is the deliverable on your strategy accounts, so it has to be launch-ready.
  • Write platform-native launch copy that drives registrations. Teasers, countdowns, social proof, urgency. You know the difference between a post that gets saved and a post that gets someone to sign up.
  • Own community during launch windows. Comments, DMs, and questions move fast when a cart is open. You're the brand's voice in every reply, and you catch the buying-intent comment before it goes cold.
  • Track launch performance and report what moved. Registrations, engagement, and conversion signals. Bring the founder a clear read on what worked and what you'd change next launch.

Must-haves

  • You've run content for a launch, a promo, or a sale before. Not just steady-state posting. You've worked to a date with a number attached and felt what that pressure does to a content plan.
  • Brand voice range. You can hold several founder voices at once without blending them. A fitness coach doesn't sound like a business consultant doesn't sound like a course creator.
  • Launch and funnel copy. You can write the teaser, the countdown, and the urgency push, and you understand how social feeds a registration page.
  • Platform and algorithm fluency. You know what's working on Instagram, TikTok, and the rest right now, in 2026, and how each one drives signups, not just views.
  • Grace under a deadline. Launch week is fast and things go sideways. You stay organized and calm when the countdown is real.

The application

Five questions. Answer them properly and you're most of the way to a yes.

  1. Link your portfolio, and point us to launch or promo work specifically. A product drop, a webinar, a sale, an enrollment window. If you've worked to a deadline, show us that first.
  2. Plan a launch week. Pick any offer: a $497 online course, a free webinar, or a coaching program. Give us the 7 days before cart open: the posts, the hooks, and one full script for the highest-stakes post of the week. Spend no more than an hour. We're reading for launch instinct and voice, not polish, and we won't use your work without hiring you.
  3. A launch you're proud of, with the numbers. What were you promoting, what did the social side deliver, and how do you know? Registrations, sales, show-up rate, whatever the goal was. Give us the number and the baseline it beat. A number with no baseline is a decoration.
  4. What breaks first when a launch is failing, and what do you do about it? Tell us how you think when registrations are soft three days before the webinar. We want to see how you troubleshoot under pressure, not a perfect answer.
  5. What's your setup and your hours? Where you're based, your internet, and the hours you can reliably overlap with US Eastern time, especially during a launch week when things move fast. Be straight with us.
