The technician is responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and related equipment in accordance with NFPA standards. They must also troubleshoot and repair existing systems while maintaining detailed documentation of all work performed.
Candidates must hold a valid California Fire Sprinkler Fitter card and have at least two years of experience in the fire protection industry. A high school diploma or GED, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a background check are also required.

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician responsibilities include cutting, threading, assembling, and bonding all pipes and tubes to ensure they pass every fire inspection. Many sprinkler fitters take on additional duties as pipe fitters and install and repair piping not related to fire protection. Position requires how to safely operate a variety of tools, including cutting torches, drills, saws, and wrenches, as well as be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
