Full job description
Shape the future of our grid. Build the capability that delivers it.
Australia's energy transition is creating some of the most complex engineering challenges our industry has faced. The integration of inverter-based resources, large-scale renewables, emerging technologies, data centres, grid stability requirements and evolving network demands are redefining how power systems are planned, designed, connected to the grid and operated.
At PSC, we do more than respond to these challenges - we help define the solutions.
As the Principal/Lead – Grid Connections you will operate at the forefront of the industry, combining deep technical expertise with leadership, innovation and influence. Working across generation, transmission and distribution networks, you will help clients navigate complex power system challenges and grid connections while contributing to the growth of a team shaping the next era of energy infrastructure. This role combines technical excellence, client and proposal leadership, mentoring and strategic engagement, providing the opportunity to influence outcomes well beyond individual projects.
How You'll Make an Impact
You'll help shape the future of Australia's energy system by leading complex technical studies, advising clients on critical infrastructure decisions and developing innovative solutions that support the energy transition.
Beyond project delivery, you will contribute to PSC's technical direction, strengthen capability in emerging areas of power systems engineering, and help develop the next generation of engineers through mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
Working alongside clients, industry stakeholders and PSC's global specialists, you'll build trusted relationships, influence best practice, contribute to business growth and play a key role in advancing both the profession and PSC's position as a market-leading power systems consultancy.
Why PSC?
At PSC, technical leadership is about more than engineering expertise - it's about influencing industry outcomes, helping clients navigate increasingly complex challenges and building the capability that will power the future. We are a nimble but global organization with extensive experience working with developers, EPCs, energy and resources companies, networks, generators and system operators on some of Australia’s largest BESS, solar, wind and synchronous projects.
We're looking for someone who wants to contribute beyond project delivery; someone passionate about advancing technical excellence, developing people, and helping shape the future direction of the energy sector. If you're motivated by solving complex problems, building high-performing teams, and leaving a lasting impact on critical infrastructure, we'd like to hear from you.
If you're ready to apply your expertise to some of the most important challenges facing the energy industry, we'd love to hear from you.
