Hours: Full-time, including evening and weekend work as required.

About SHL.UK
SHL.UK is an online sexual health service for Londoners committed to breaking down barriers to testing and care. We work with diverse communities across the capital, ensuring that anyone 16 years and over, regardless of background, identity, or circumstance, can access confidential, stigma-free sexual health support.
The Role
We're looking for a Partnerships and Engagement Officer who thrives both behind a screen and out in the community. You'll be the bridge between SHL.UK and the Londoners we serve by building relationships with VCSE partners, sexual health clinics, and grassroots organisations to increase access to our services and drive uptake of postal testing kits and SmartKits (community testing kits).
This role suits someone who's equally comfortable keeping activity records, analysing outreach data, and attending community events with service users. The applicant must be comfortable discussing and promoting STI testing, contraception and treatment with people of all backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with community groups, faith organisations, and grassroots networks - particularly those serving LGBTQ+ communities, women, African and Caribbean communities, migrants, and other priority populations
- Promote STI testing, contraception, PrEP and other treatments to various different communities and professionals
- Plan, deliver, or attend outreach activities across London, including pop-ups, workshops, health fairs, and partner events (evenings and weekends as needed)
- Act as a visible, approachable ambassador for SHL.UK, building awareness and trust in our services
- Follow agreed engagement plans, briefings, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures, and escalate when needed
Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with VCSE organisations and NHS sexual health clinics to coordinate referral pathways and joint initiatives
- Identify new, strategically relevant, partnership opportunities and support onboarding of community partners
- Support VCSEs to increase SmartKit usage and monitor progress with data
- Represent SHL.UK at external meetings, forums, and networks
Service Promotion & Testing Uptake
- Promote postal testing kits and SmartKits through targeted campaigns, events, collaborations with VCSE partners, and one-to-one conversations with service users
- Support the distribution and demonstration of testing kits in community settings
- Gather community feedback to inform service improvements and reduce barriers to access
Administration & Data
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and outcomes
- Track engagement metrics and contribute to regular performance reports
- Coordinate logistics for events, including materials, bookings, and travel
- Monitor Smartkit usage across our existing partnerships and act proactively to top up kits
- Support digital communications, including email campaigns, where required

- Understanding of confidentiality, boundaries, safeguarding, and safe working practices
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
