The POP team is a deeply committed and collaborative team, working in close partnership to advance the organization’s mission. Many team members have been with POP for 10 years or more—a testament to the strength of the organizational culture and the talented, thoughtful leadership that has fostered both loyalty and professional growth.

If you’re looking to work with an inspiring team to make a lasting life-changing impact on the lives of hundreds of students and their families, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership Support
  • Board Relations & Governance
  • Development Department Support
  • Organizational Culture & Staff Engagement
  • Cross-Department Collaboration & Special Projects

Requirements

We are looking for someone with sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage complex, shifting demands while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and execution. The right person is highly organized, adaptable, and resourceful, with a calm, solutions-oriented approach. In addition, we require the following skills/abilities:

  • 4+ years of administrative experience supporting senior executives or C-Suite leaders in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects quickly and accurately
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a keen eye for polished deliverables
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • High level of discretion in maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information and materials

Salary & Benefits

This position has an annual salary range of $58,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience). We offer a generous benefits package including paid time off and holidays, a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with 3% matching contribution, group medical insurance, and contributory dental, disability, and life insurance coverage.

Play On Philly (POP) cultivates emotional, cognitive, and behavioral skills necessary for life by providing high quality music education to underserved children in Philadelphia. We believe that intensive music education is a vehicle to develop life-long academic and social skills. Many Philadelphia students do not have access to music education. Our mission is to provide tuition-free, intensive after-school music education to students who would not otherwise have access. POP does not ask students to audition, nor are they required to have any previous musical experience. Each of our students from K-12th grade are loaned at no cost one of fourteen instruments such as a harp, flute, clarinet, cello, and violin. Students will each receive approximately 500 hours of training and performance opportunities during the year. Because many of our students enter POP programming as many as 3 grade levels behind, a creative all-day summer camp is offered in July, in addition to school-year lessons, to protect the positive advancements they’ve gained through POP and prepare them for a successful return to school in the fall. Instruction is delivered by a talented corps of professional musicians and educators who realize their gifts can be a powerful force of change in the most vulnerable and marginalized populations throughout Philadelphia. The organization is led by a committed group of professionals and governed by a passionate Board of Directors who are eager to see the growth and sustainability of POP.
