The Yard Driver is responsible for safely operating yard trucks to move trailers within the facility and ensuring they are positioned correctly at dock doors. They also perform routine equipment inspections, maintain yard organization, and assist with general warehouse tasks as needed.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. At least one year of driving or yard experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to perform manual labor in an outdoor environment.
The Yard Driver (also known as a Yard Jockey or Trailer Spotter) is responsible for safely operating company-owned or leased yard trucks to move trailers and materials around the warehouse yard. This role plays a key part in keeping trailer flow efficient, organized, and safe. The Yard Jockey also supports dock operations and may assist with forklift driving or sorting when needed.
Guaranteed Progression: 50-cent per hour increases at 90 days, 1 year, and annually thereafter for a total of 5 years, reaching the maximum rate at 5 years in this role.
