The Plant Mechanic is responsible for installing and maintaining structural and mechanical equipment, including turbines, pumps, and piping systems. They perform daily tasks such as equipment operation, rigging, and machine shop work while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3-4 years of Journeyman-level mechanical experience, preferably in a power or chemical plant. Applicants must also pass written and practical mechanical exams, as well as a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

A Plant Mechanic is a Journeyman Mechanic who is responsible for installing and maintaining structural or mechanical equipment at the plant including fired and unfired pressure vessels, turbines, pumps, pulverizers and piping systems. Daily interfacing with basic thermodynamics, hydraulics and blue print reading. Tasks may include but not limited to connecting compression fittings, removal and replacement of thermocouple assemblies and minor operation of equipment.
