Responsibilities

Deliver road safety presentations to students and coordinate with school principals and teachers. Manage daily activities independently according to a work schedule while maintaining transparent communication with management.

Requirements

Must be bilingual in English and French with a valid G driver's license, reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record. A recent Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check and access to a personal smart device and computer are required.

Position

Bilingual Walk Safe Presenter

Salary

$22.58 per hour

  • Milage

  • $17.50/day (or $8.75 AM and $8.75 PM)

Shifts and Hours

Monday through Friday (varies), 3-7 hours per presentation day with the possibility of split shifts (i.e. half-days). Operational School Year (August to June)

Reports to

Senior Program Manager – School Zone Safety

Core Competencies

  • The ideal candidate will have French as a first language skills, as well correspond in English.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Exemplary Presentation skills in both French and English.

  • Excellent communication skills for working with Principals and teachers.

  • Exemplary customer service and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to work independently while keeping communication open and transparent.

Requirements

  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check (VSC) (Can be completed during the application process. Costs are reimbursed by the OSC. Employment offers conditional upon a VSC).

  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills in English and French.

  • Ability to interact and cooperate with people of diverse ages and backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to a work schedule.

  • Must have a personal Smart Device with GPS enabled for use of scheduling App with clock-in timesheet and shift schedule management.

  • Must hold a valid G driver’s license with fewer than seven demerit points and maintain a clean record.

  • Must have a reliable vehicle as local travel is required.

  • A home computer and personal cell phone is required, as well as access to a scanner/fax machine.

Work Conditions

  • Occasionally lift items as heavy as 30 lbs.

  • Daily travel within zone.
