Job DetailsJob Location: Ocean County YMCA - TOMS RIVER, NJ 08755Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneProvides administrative support to the Youth Development department while ensuring a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.  Ensuring the program is supported in all operational aspects and helping to maintain a positive relationship with the schools, staff, and parents.

Essential Functions

1. Reports directly to the Senior Youth Development Director.

1. Runs monthly reports and assists weekly with School Rosters.

1. Assist with maintaining records for staff hiring, training, and evaluations, for state licensing purposes.

1. Help to maintain updated program information and schedules.  Ensure effective communication of information with parents, participants, YMCA staff, and school personnel as needed while maintaining confidentiality where applicable.

1. Assist in the identification and resolution of problems to ensure programs are meeting YMCA goals and community needs.

1. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical, disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.

1. Have the understanding, ability, physical health, emotional stability, and good judgement to perform all aspects of the position.

1. Have a flexible schedule that will include nights and weekends.

1. Great written and oral communication skills, following proper grammar and spelling.

1. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.  Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

1. Be organized.

1. Other duties as assigned.

1. Work an average of 20-25 hours per week.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

1. Two years or more experience in an office setting.

1. Knowledge of office etiquette including superior customer service and phone skills.

1. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

1. Ability to use office equipment and other office tools.

1. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
