Responsible for designing menus and preparing all foodstuffs for the crew while managing the ordering and storage of catering supplies within budget. Ensures galley safety and assists in emergency exercises, including the launch and recovery of Fast Rescue Craft.
Candidates must hold a Ships Cook CoC or Ships Cook Part I and II. A valid Food Hygiene certificate is also required.

Cook is responsible for the following:
Management of the ordering, storage and use of all catering stores, within budget confines.
Check catering stores as supplied, and inform the Master of stores wrongly delivered or missing.
Monitoring of all freezer and chill areas.
In full charge of designing menus and preparing all foodstuffs for consumption by the crew.
Safety aspects of operations within the galley and other catering areas.
Reporting of all defects, in the galley, Fridges, Freezers and food store areas to the Chief Engineer.
The Cook must be familiar with all fire fighting appliances / power cut off switches and any other safety device within, or appertaining to, any catering area.
The Cook will also assist on deck in emergency exercises and situations where Fast Rescue Craft are launched / recovered.
