The Quebec Urban Lands and Gatineau Park division of the Capital Stewardship branch has divided its student opportunities into 4 categories. Please review the specific requirements for each type of position before applying.

*For all Gatineau Park positions, students must have their own means of transportation to get to their designated work location.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR ALL POSITIONS
• Full-time CEGEP, college or university student.
• Enrolled in full-time studies in the next academic year.
• Bilingual in both official languages.
• Possess or eligible to obtain reliability security clearance.
OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (Applicable to some positions)
• Possess a valid driver’s licence (Ontario; Class G, Quebec: Class 5, or Provincial equivalent) and provide a good driver’s abstract.
• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willing to work longer hours if necessary.
• Available to work flexible hours including weekdays, weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays if necessary.
• Willing and physically able to cycle or walk for extended periods.
• Wear protective gear that may be provided by the employer.
• Valid standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certifications.

• Completed a minimum of one (1) year of a college program.

REQUIREMENTS
• Completed a minimum of one (1) year of university in geography, environment, project management, in leisure or social sciences studies, or any other related program.
Visitor Experience
POSITIONS TO BE FILLED
Student – Visitor Experience Officer (Visitor Centre and at Lac Philippe Campground)
Student – Heritage Interpreter (Mackenzie King Estate – Chelsea, QC)
Student – Nature Interpreter (Lac Philippe campground – Masham, QC)
REQUIREMENTS
• Completed a minimum of one (1) year of college in History, Politics, Communications, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Environmental Sciences, Education, Museum Studies or another related program.
• Experience in guest services, public speaking, student support, or public entertainment (e.g., customer service, presentations, theatre or drama, teacher assistant).
RATES OF PAY
Student rates of pay generally follow the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat guidance, but some positions are paid based on the work performed rather than the student’s level of education.
