About Our Family
We are a busy and quietly intentional household in the north metro of the Twin Cities. Both adults work demanding careers outside the home, with schedules that can shift unexpectedly. We have two young children at home, including a toddler exploring the world and a newborn who keeps us happily on our toes. We are Type A in how we like our home to run — systems, order, and follow-through matter to us — and while life with small children has made it hard to stay ahead of everything, we are always working toward a calmer, more organized home.
We value honesty, reliability, and kindness above everything else. Our household is calm and low-key. We are not loud or high-energy people, and our kids thrive with steady, grounded adults around them. We have a weekly cleaner and a nanny focused on infant care, and we are looking for someone to fill in the operational gaps that make the biggest difference in our day-to-day.
We are health-conscious and environmentally mindful — we prefer glass food storage over single-use plastic, and we keep a well-stocked, intentionally run kitchen. The right person will step into a household that already has good bones and help us maintain and grow the systems we have in place.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are someone who walks into a space, notices what needs to be done, and handles it without being asked twice. You are organized and detail-oriented, but never rigid — you understand that a household with young children requires flexibility and a calm presence when things shift.
Others describe you as quietly capable: you build trust through consistency and follow-through, not flash. You may be coming from a nanny background and are ready to step into a more household-focused role, or you may already have strong house management experience. Either way, experience with newborns or infants is a meaningful plus. You take ownership of your work, communicate proactively, and genuinely care about the families you support.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support
Provide occasional backup transportation for school pickups and drop-offs, primarily when a parent is traveling
Light childcare supervision and backup care as needed
Pack and unpack for children (and accompanying gear) for family travel
Household Organization & Maintenance
Perform daily resets: load and unload dishwasher, wipe down surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas, etc.
Prep home for the weekly Thursday cleaner
Maintain and evolve existing household organization systems
Manage seasonal clothing transitions as kids grow: sort, store, and coordinate donation drop-offs for outgrown items
Rotate and organize toys and books for the younger child as seasonally and developmentally appropriate
Assist with occasional holiday decor takedown and storage
Support preparation for hosting guests (overnight or events) as occasionally requested
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
Periodically deep clean fridge, oven, and baseboards
Regularly clean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiers
Own ongoing organization and maintenance of mudroom and other hotspots for clutter throughout the home
Inventory & Errands
Collaborate with family to manage grocery and household supply orders or in-store shopping as needed
Track household and baby supply inventory to prevent running low on essentials
Run miscellaneous errands as requested (e.g. occasional returns)
Bring in packages and break down boxes for recycling
Meal Support
Batch-prep proteins (slow cooker chicken, salmon, etc.) for adults to pull from throughout the week
Process and chop produce as groceries arrive
Batch-prep breakfasts and lunches in advance for adults (overnight oats and similar)
Prep lunch ingredients for the toddler (chopped and ready to pack); snacks prepped and ready for after-school
Awareness of macros a plus
Laundry & Linens
Manage laundry for all family members: wash, dry, fold, and put away
Adult laundry approximately weekly; children's laundry approximately every five days
Wash and rotate linens and towels on a regular cadence
Keep laundry area tidy and well-stocked with supplies
How to Apply
