The Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician manages the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications and services. They ensure accurate documentation submission to payers while collaborating with clinical teams to optimize reimbursement and patient access.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of work experience. Current South Carolina Pharmacy Technician registration and national PTCB certification are required.
The Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician supports the outpatient pharmacy operations by managing the end-to-end prior-authorization process for medications, services, and procedures. This role ensures timely submission of accurate documentation to payers, monitors authorizations and denials, collaborates with clinical and provider teams, and helps optimize reimbursement while safeguarding patient access to therapy.
Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 1 year
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
